A Call to Action

Join Us

We would like you to join us in the national effort to get people off the streets and into affordable housing.

We recommend visiting a local soup kitchen or shelter to get a firsthand experience of the reality of the situation. Donations are always needed, especially now that federal assistance is likely to be cut. There is also the great need for volunteers to help out with day-to-day operations.

There are ongoing referendums and legislation about affordable housing – both locally and federally. Please stay alert for such measures. They will need your vote and your activism.

The Helen Hudson Foundation is focused on using the power of story to change consciousness and inspire action. To this end, we donate free copies of Dinner at Six to soup kitchens and shelters to raise both awareness and funds.

Are there Soup Kitchens or Food Banks in your area?

Are there Book Clubs who might be looking for a compelling read?

Are there High Schools or Colleges in your area who might be interested in using Dinner at Six as a textbook?

For more information about how you can get involved, please contact us. As a small organization, we ask you to help us spread the word.

“It is not the job of a good message to say what is popular. It is the job of a good message to make popular what we need to say.”
